In a recent report released by Scholastic and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, behavior issues that interfere with teaching and learning have notably worsened in all grade levels. Concern about this increase in behavior issues was not limited to any particular demographic group; however, schools in lower-income areas reported concerns at a higher rate than schools in higher-income areas. There are many speculations regarding the cause for this increase. At the same time, all educators are aware of the need for change.
In an attempt to help educators and/or parents gain a deeper understanding of some possible causes for this increase, I would like to share the I Create What I Believe! (ICWIB) Instructional Guide DVD. I have broken the material into smaller sections, which I will share over the course of several months because it is quite lengthy. I feel the information on this DVD could help both parents and educators gain a deeper understanding of some of the possible sources of this increase and also offer some simple, scientific, and cost-effective solutions.
