When I get overwhelmed by life, my usual response is “back to basics”! This is not the time for me to continue operating from the mindset of “just one more thing,” but rather the time for me to stop, shift gears, and reconnect with myself and what is important to me. This is a time my biological system is talking to me—well, more like yelling at me!
It’s saying, “I can’t do this any more!” In those moments I know I have to stop, step back, and reconnect with what is important—and myself—because I have obviously lost my center and my way.
This is not a time to play with my computer, cell phone, or anything electronic. This is not a time to handle one more business call, pay one more bill, or even clean my kitchen. This is a time for dirt, crayons, and bread dough or whatever basic rituals are calling me at the moment. It is also important for me to remember the value of basics so I don’t forget to include them into my daily life, because the more we embrace technology, the more we need the opposite or basics. So hopefully we won’t lose wax crayons, graphic pencils, hard-bound books, and the means to make our own bread. If we do, then I do fear for our society, but as long as we have basics and the means to return to them, I am sure we will fair well.
With this in mind, I invite you to explore some of the ICWIB! art activities and videos for FREE because they are an easy way to help you move away from overwhelm and reconnect more deeply with yourself.
Also, in a recent interview, Dr. Bruce Lipton said, “Freedom is the ability to create without the limitation of generational programming. The I Create What I Believe! (ICWIB!) Program is a gateway and a pathway into a new and better future because it allows children to fully express themselves and to not be limited by the beliefs that have been passed down from generation to generation. This program also frees up children’s minds and allows their creative nature to create a better world for all of us, which is what we need right now!”
