“We need to make sure that [children] see that learning a topic can be exciting, it can be gratifying, make you feel more competent and comfortable—and that all of these things lead to a sense of accomplishment and a sense of joy in learning that will be much more important in the long run, than the fact that they were able to identify a rectangle versus a triangle when they were four.” Dr. Bruce Perry
In this short video, Dr. Bruce Perry, psychiatrist and expert on the long-term effects of childhood trauma to the biology of the brain, shares his opinion on the real goal of education. It is “not to pass a test in third grade” he states, “but to create children who are productive and curious, capable of continuing [learning] throughout their whole lifetime, being positive and contributing members of our culture.”
As Dr. Perry points out, most education is self-motivated. Therefore, when children are first introduced to formal learning, it’s vital to instill the connection and the association between fun and learning.
In the spirit of joyful learning, the ICWIB! Program offers young children fun, simple-to-use tools for self-regulating and placing their minds in a learning-ready state. We believe every child has greatness to bring to this world and we offer these activities as a means for empowering life-long learning!
With this in mind, we invite you to explore some of the ICWIB! art activities and videos for FREE!
Also, in a recent interview, Dr. Bruce Lipton said, “…Freedom is the ability to create without the limitation of generational programming. The I Create What I Believe! (ICWIB!) Program is a gateway and a pathway into a new and better future because it allows children to fully express themselves and to not be limited by the beliefs that have been passed down from generation to generation. This program also frees up children’s minds and allows their creative nature to create a better world for all of us, which is what we need right now!…”
