I think this tongue-in-cheek twist of the Serenity Prayer (“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.”) is really quite brilliant, because it highlights the source of many of the problems we face today.
Let me translate the cartoon’s version of it: “I pray I have the “strength to change (control) what I can”; the inability to accept (be in denial) what I can’t; and the incapacity to tell the difference (my lack of awareness relieves me of responsibility for my actions). Unfortunately, this approach makes a person a victim of their circumstances instead of master of his/her mind.
In my upbringing I was taught, not directly, to blame others for my shortcomings and failures instead of taking full responsibility for my actions. Art, because it is a form of biofeedback, helped me become more aware of how my beliefs were transmitted to the outside world and how they ultimately impacted all the outcomes in my life. It also gave me a tool that helped me re-pattern my mind with more constructive beliefs.
I have found that the ICWIB activities, because they allow you to experience the transformative benefits of the creative process without needing to master drawing skills, are a great way to become clearer, more effective in your daily life, and move toward becoming master of your mind.
With this in mind, I invite you to explore some of the FREE ICWIB art activities and videos.
Since the ICWIB program, which is endorsed by Dr. Bruce Lipton and based on his research, has repeatedly demonstrated its ability to help even young children reduce stress, release bottled-up emotions, resolve internal conflict, self-regulate and place their mind in a learning ready state, I think it should be available to any teacher who wants to actively use it in his or her classroom regardless of their ability to pay for the training.
Would you like to help make this a reality?
Also would you also be interested in attending a small intimate workshop with Dr. Bruce Lipton and Nancy Marie? They are currently organizing an event for late spring of this year.
