It seems to me that many people today are so used to being stress that they no longer know when they are stressed. They also don’t seem to know how to approach life in a relaxed and unstressed out state. Now consider that science has found that when you pet a dog, and I think this also works with cats, your brain automatically releases oxytocin into your body. This is the love drug. It makes you feel good and helps to destress your body.
So when you see a dog that wants to be petted, please pet their heads, their backs and if they roll over, please also give them a full tummy rub. You are obviously giving love to the dog, but you are also helping to destress yourself.
Also, if you find you need more support to destress yourself, I suggest you explore the I Create What I Believe (ICWIB) program where my friend Luke will demonstrate the ICWIB activities and/or attend the FREE Drawing in the Now classes that are taught by Nancy Marie over Zoom the first and third Monday of the month from 4:30 pm-5:00 pm PST.
