When my trainer was discussing what kind of dog would be good for Nancy Marie, she suggested a poodle. Nancy asked why. The trainer said two things: First they are hypoallergenic, and you will be in a lot of places where people are allergic to dogs, so you are thinking about them. The second reason is they are clowns.
If you have a disability and need a service dog, you need to be living with a clown.
Well, the truth is I will do almost anything to make Nancy laugh. Especially when she is down or overwhelmed by the Addison’s. My favorite game is to collect one of my stuffed animal toys and toss it in the air and catch it. If that doesn’t work, I will throw it up into the air and have the stuffed animal land on her. Usually, she starts laughing and then throws it. I in turn run and catch it. The game is on!!!
This will go on until we are exhausted and ready to curl up and rest.
So, if you are depressed and I am not around to play this game with you or you aren’t able to play a similar game with your own dog, then close your eyes and imagine you are playing the game with me. Remember to make the game wild and ridiculous! This will help you shake off the ‘blues’ and create a more joy filled day.
If you want to bring more laughter and fun into your life and you don’t know where to start, I suggest you explore the I Create What I Believe (ICWIB) program where my friend Luke will demonstrate the ICWIB activities and/or attend the FREE Drawing in the Now classes that are taught by Nancy Marie over Zoom the first and third Monday of the month from 4:30 pm-5:00 pm PST.

In a recent interview Dr. Bruce Lipton said, “…Freedom is the ability to create without the limitation of generational programming. The I Create What I Believe! (ICWIB!) Program is a gateway and a pathway into a new and better future because it allows children and (adults) to fully express themselves and to not be limited by the beliefs that have been passed down from generation to generation. This program also frees up children’s and (adults’) minds and allows their creative nature to create a better world for all of us, which is what we need right now!”
