I have spoken about Hanks, my Portuguese water dog friend before, but today I want to talk about another remarkable talent he has. I think it is a window into what motivates Hanks.
Hanks loves people and he especially likes to feel like he belongs. So, if two adults are talking in a room where he is and he wants to be part of the conversation he will jump straight up in the air in an attempt to make eye contact with one or more of the adults that are talking. He will do this over and over again until he gets the attention and connection of the talking adults.
The first time I saw hanks jump in this manner and do it repeatedly I found myself laughing. Then the more I laughed the clearer the picture of what he was doing and why he was doing it appeared in my mind.
Now to get a connection from another person or animal we don’t have to go through all the jumping and arial movement Hanks does when he wants connection or the feeling that he belongs, because we all belong and have always been able to belong.
It is just misguided information that has led us down a path where we end up thinking we don’t belong and there is something wrong with us. Unfortunately, that can also lead us to feeling helpless, we can’t trust ourselves or we need to follow outside direction instead our own inner GPS.
When we don’t have to go down that rabbit hole, we can embrace the wisdom of belonging and ultimately shift our perceptions so we can create a different life.
So what do you do when you want to relate to someone or be part of something. What is your approach? Do you jump up and down in hope someone will notice you or do you focus on being your very best. Knowing that then you will attract the people and support you need to feel like you belong and are successful.
Now if you would like to increase the quality of your connections and help yourself and others feel like you belong and bring more love and clarity into all of your lives, I suggest you explore the I Create What I Believe (ICWIB) program where my friend Luke will demonstrate the ICWIB activities and/or attend the FREE Drawing in the Now classes that are taught by Nancy Marie over Zoom the first and third Monday of the month from 4:30 pm-5:00 pm PST.

In a recent interview Dr. Bruce Lipton said, “…Freedom is the ability to create without the limitation of generational programming. The I Create What I Believe! (ICWIB!) Program is a gateway and a pathway into a new and better future because it allows children and (adults) to fully express themselves and to not be limited by the beliefs that have been passed down from generation to generation. This program also frees up children’s and (adults’) minds and allows their creative nature to create a better world for all of us, which is what we need right now!”
