Independence Day, also known as the 4th of July, is a federal holiday in the United States. It commemorates the ratification of the Declaration of Independence and the establishing of the United States of America. By issuing the Declaration of Independence the 13 American colonies were able to sever their political connections with Great Britain. Before the American Independence in 1776, (a group of 13 colonies that make up eastern part of the modern-day United States) were ruled by the British.
Today the 4th of July tends to be a day of celebration and joy with parades, fireworks, and picnics. Though under all the celebration this day is a reminder that freedom and independence was and is not free. The signing of the Declaration of Independence was only possible because the colonists had won the American Revolution.
Fighting to retain our freedoms was and is not a given, but rather something we need to maintain vigilant with our mind, body, and heart. It doesn’t matter if we are fighting for a small freedom or a large one, we need to remember that our power remains in our clarity of who we are and where we stand.
My mother used to say, don’t let a sleeping or dishonest dog fool you, because they might not really be sleeping but rather waiting for the moment you aren’t paying attention. This is important to remember today because there is a lot of upheaval, and dishonest or sleeping dogs. She also said we can help neutralize that imbalance by approaching life from our heart, and remembering where we stand.
If you would like some help remembering how to approach life from your heart so you can serve as a counter balance to the upheaval and unrest of today, I suggest you explore the I Create What I Believe (ICWIB) program where my friend Luke will demonstrate the ICWIB activities and/or attend the FREE Drawing in the Now classes that are taught by Nancy Marie over Zoom the first and third Monday of the month from 4:30 pm-5:00 pm PST.

In a recent interview Dr. Bruce Lipton said, “…Freedom is the ability to create without the limitation of generational programming. The I Create What I Believe! (ICWIB!) Program is a gateway and a pathway into a new and better future because it allows children and (adults) to fully express themselves and to not be limited by the beliefs that have been passed down from generation to generation. This program also frees up children’s and (adults’) minds and allows their creative nature to create a better world for all of us, which is what we need right now!”
