My mother would constantly remind us that our job was to provide unconditional love and help our new owners learn to approach life from unconditional love.
Humor is a wonderful antidote for stress, a delightful way to release bottled-up emotions, change your perceptions and ultimately help you open your heart to unconditional love. Some people are natural comedians, while others may find themselves stifled in this department.
My trainer had suggested that Nancy get a poodle because they are clowns and anyone who needs a medical alert service dog needs to live with a clown.
So why do I need to help Nancy reduce stress?
Nancy’s body doesn’t make any ACTH, which is the fuel for the adrenals. This means that Nancy needs to administrate it manually. Also, it is important to remember that Nancy grew-up in an environment where thinking differently was frowned on and poking fun at something was not tolerated. So, my humoristic outlook on life was a very good tool for helping Nancy manage her lack of ACTH.
With this in mind, I would purposely do something to make her laugh. Often that would create a shift in her perceptions and in the process reduce her current stress. If just getting her to laugh didn’t work to reduce her stress, I would then need to alert her that she needed to increase her medication for Addison’s Disease.
This is not a one-time response but an ongoing support I offer for Nancy 24/7.
If you would like to explore new ways to reduce your stress, I suggest you explore the I Create What I Believe (ICWIB) program where my friend Luke will demonstrate the ICWIB activities and/or attend the FREE Drawing in the Now classes that are taught by Nancy Marie over Zoom the first and third Monday of the month from 4:30 pm-5:00 pm PST.

In a recent interview Dr. Bruce Lipton said, “…Freedom is the ability to create without the limitation of generational programming. The I Create What I Believe! (ICWIB!) Program is a gateway and a pathway into a new and better future because it allows children and (adults) to fully express themselves and to not be limited by the beliefs that have been passed down from generation to generation. This program also frees up children’s and (adults’) minds and allows their creative nature to create a better world for all of us, which is what we need right now!”
