What are we celebrating on Labor Day?
Today Labor Day is no longer about trade unionists marching down the street with banners and their tools of trade. Labor Day also is not just a Holiday that marks the end of summer. It is a day that we celebrate the hard-working individuals that have helped build this country. It is the day where we celebrate the contributions, achievements, and hard work of the 155 million men and women who are part of the United States workforce and the backbone of this country.
The original Labor Day holiday was meant to resolve the problem of long working hours and no time off. Although the battle over these issues seems to have been somewhat solved long ago. Many of these same issues are now rising to the top and plaguing both manufacturing workers and highly skilled white-collar workers.
Labor Day also marks the day in 1894 when Congress declared the first Monday in September a national holiday to honor the nation’s workers and their contributions to the well-being of America.
Do you feel drawn to honor and show appreciation for these individuals?
Is there a simple way that you can personally show your appreciation for these individuals?
I think the easiest response is to appreciate what they do or do for you and thank them personally. Nancy has a friend who religiously takes homemade brownies to businesses and workers that she values, appreciates, and admires. This is not a one stop, rather something she does year-round. Remember it is not what you do, but how you hold them in your mind that sends a clear message of appreciation and value.
If you would like some help discovering how you can honor the work force that supports you and the rest of the nation, I suggest you explore the I Create What I Believe (ICWIB) program where my friend Luke will demonstrate the ICWIB activities and/or attend the FREE Drawing in the Now classes that are taught by Nancy Marie over Zoom the first and third Monday of the month from 4:30 pm-5:00 pm PST.

In a recent interview Dr. Bruce Lipton said, “…Freedom is the ability to create without the limitation of generational programming. The I Create What I Believe! (ICWIB!) Program is a gateway and a pathway into a new and better future because it allows children and (adults) to fully express themselves and to not be limited by the beliefs that have been passed down from generation to generation. This program also frees up children’s and (adults’) minds and allows their creative nature to create a better world for all of us, which is what we need right now!”
