My mother used to say, “Pain opens us up and expands us so we can love and feel deeper with more clarity. She also said that relaxation allow us to heal and become who we really are.”
Here is my story:
“Earlier this year I woke up one morning with vertigo. My head was spinning, I couldn’t stand up without falling and my head was crooked to the left, so I felt I was approaching everything sideways. I was also in a lot of pain. Nancy immediately jumped into action. She held my body so I could stop shaking and talked to me in soft reassuring voice. As I slowed done, I calmed down. Then Nancy called my vet and asked for an emergency appointment. She continued to hold and cradle my body so I could walk to the car and lifted me into the car. Now that was no easy task because at the time, I was 54 lbs. and Nancy is about 4’ 11”. I know it hurt her back, but she was focused only on helping me get help.
At the vet’s office Nancy asked someone to carry me in because I couldn’t walk. After the vet did some testing, she said I had Idiopathic Vestibular Syndrome. She gave Nancy suggestions and said it usually resolves itself in 4 days to two weeks. Well, that was three months ago, something else had to be going on.
About two months later we got an answer. Nancy had forgotten to give me my pain medication for a low back disk injury. As a result, I woke up with a lot of pain in my right ear. I was shaking my head uncontrollably and pawing at my right ear. It seems the pain medication had been masking the originating problem. Once again Nancy called the vet for another emergency appointment. She had felt that something else was the source of the vertigo and now she had proof she was right. They did a lot of testing and discovered that Nancy was right. My right ear drum was damaged and there was also an infection on or near the drum. They treated the problem and I slowly improved.
During the early weeks of my recouping Nancy slept on the floor holding me so I would feel safe enough to go to sleep. She also woke up in the middle of the night to stabilize my body so I could go outside to pee and poop.
When I no longer needed her to sleep on the floor and hold me, she set up an air bed and her office downstairs so she could keep an eye on me and address my every need. I felt guilty for being such a mess, but Nancy constantly said, “You have had my back for many years, now it is my turn to have your back. Relax and heal.
More recently She has been taking me for longer walks and helping me remember how to climb the stairs again. I am still fearful at times because I fell so many times in the beginning, but with her love and devotion Nancy has helped me trust my body and has showed me that I can recover.
I am much better now. In fact, yesterday we went to visit my dog friend, Hanks. Then three kids I know showed up. I was so happy I forgot my previous limitations. I played with the kids, got petted and even instigated a game with Nancy. When we got home, I felt so strong and capable I immediately ran up the stairs to Nancy’s surprise. Yes, I have more healing but now I can be with Nancy and go anywhere she goes and resume my job of Alerting her when she needs to be reminded. It has been a long journey, but I keep remembering my mother’s words in my head, “Pain opens us up and expands us so we can see and love more deeply with more clarity.” She also said, “relaxation allow us to heal and become who we really are.”

In a recent interview Dr. Bruce Lipton said, “…Freedom is the ability to create without the limitation of generational programming. The I Create What I Believe! (ICWIB!) Program is a gateway and a pathway into a new and better future because it allows children and (adults) to fully express themselves and to not be limited by the beliefs that have been passed down from generation to generation. This program also frees up children’s and (adults’) minds and allows their creative nature to create a better world for all of us, which is what we need right now!”
