When was the last time you scribbled? I mean really scribbled with abandonment. When was the last time you allowed yourself to cut loose and do something as childish as scribbling? Well, today may be the day you need to cut loose again.
Scribbling can serve many purposes. It can be an aerobic activity that has the ability to release bottled-up energy and emotions, or it can be a reflective, mindfulness activity that helps you get calmer, clearer, and more centered. Scribbling can stimulate your senses through the use of color, making you feel more alive and vibrant. You can also use it purposely to cross the midline.
If you scribble with each hand individually you can practice activating individual hemispheres of your mind. If you scribble with both hands together, you can encourage both hemispheres to work together as a team. If you dare to scribble with your feet, besides probably laughing a lot, you can activate all four limbs, which is what Rudolph Steiner talked about in his educational philosophy that is the corner stone of Waldorf education. Finally, I think scribbling helps both young and old drop the need to be perfect, not take things so seriously, and become more present in the moment. That is a lot from just a small box of crayons!
With this in mind, I invite you to explore some of the ICWIB art activities and videos for FREE.
In a recent interview, Dr. Bruce Lipton said, “…Freedom is the ability to create without the limitation of generational programming. The I Create What I Believe! (ICWIB) Program is a gateway and a pathway into a new and better the future because it allows children to fully express themselves and to not be limited by the beliefs that have been passed from generation to generation. This program also frees up the mind of a child and allows their creative nature to create a better world for all of us, and this is what we need right now!..”
With this in mind, on March 1, 2018, we launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise money so we can offer the ICWIB training to 150 teachers preschool and elementary school teachers in the upcoming academic year for FREE.
