In this short video, Gordon Hempton, an acoustic ecologist who has spent over thirty years recording the steadily vanishing natural soundscapes, talks about the impact that one square inch of silence can have on nature and the world.
After I watched this video, I began to ponder the possible the impact that each of us could have on both nature and the world if we took the time to cultivate one square inch of silence within ourselves. Just think of it, if each of us could set aside five minutes each day to cultivate stillness within ourselves, imagine how differently we might respond to the challenges of our day and how our more peaceful demeanor would impact others in our day. In the process, we might find ourselves to be more compassionate, more receptive, more intuitive, and maybe even more productive.
With this in mind, I invite you to explore some of the ICWIB! art activities and videos for FREE because they are an easy way to move out of your reactive mind and into the deep, peaceful quiet of the conscious problem-solving mind.
