In this animated short video, philosopher Alan Watts illuminates the concept of perspective through the story of the Chinese farmer. Since research has shown us that our beliefs and perceptions mold our life, it seems obvious that if we label something as good or bad we are impacting the trajectory of our life at the same time. Often we really don’t know if something is good or bad until much later and trying to label and compartmentalize something prematurely is often not productive. On the other hand, when you allow yourself the freedom to ponder and discover, you can uncover a far more expansive perspective than the one that has held you hostage by your reactive mind.
