As I watched this video clip about Jorge Munoz I was reminded of how one person’s actions can have a powerful impact on many people’s lives. A school bus driver by day and an angel by night, Jorge is making a difference. Why? When asked that question he said, “… my mother taught me to share…” He said he saw people were hungry so every night for the past 5 years he has gone home after work and cooked food for hundreds of people on his old stove. He then would go to a street corner in Queens, New York and feeds those that are hungry. He did this with his own money because he said, “it’s the right thing to do”. I think he is the personification of an everyday hero.
As I watched the video for the third time a series of questions began to roll around in my mind. What small thing could I do? What small thing could others do? And if we all did just one small action of generosity each day could those small things accumulate and make a huge difference in the world?
If the pandemic has only taught us one thing, I think it is that we are all connected and we all need to feel that connection. At the same time, to really see that connection and respond authentically to that connection we need to be in our conscious mind.
With this in mind, I invite you to explore some of the ICWIB art activities and videos for FREE because they can help you activate your conscious mind and create a life that is supportive of your authentic nature and the authentic nature of others.
