I think we have all experienced scary and even traumatic moments. In these experiences we can feel crushed or gain the ability to breath deeper and feel more deeply loved.
So here is my story:
Nancy and I were heading home after a long morning walk. We were about 3 blocks from home when out of nowhere a large dog began charging us. This was not a ‘play with me’ approach, but rather all his body signs indicated he was in attack mode. Nancy began screaming in hope of recruiting someone to help us out. The dog got closer and closer. I could feel the fear and anxiety rising in Nancy. The dog lunged forward and bit my backside. I yelled and moved away from him, unfortunately he then lunged towards me again biting my hind quarters a second time.
At this point Nancy was using her legs and feet to kick the dog and move him away from me. In response he went for my juggler vein.
Then Nancy stepped in between the other dog and me and pushed me so I was behind her. “He is going to have to take me out before I will let him hurt you anymore”, she said to me. My heart was filled with gratitude and subsequently my body relaxed a bit.
Around this same time several neighbors and the owner showed up. Unfortunately, when the owner tried to control the dog, he attacked her as well. Nancy pulled me closer, and we slowly walked home. When we got there Nancy sat on the ground and wrapped her arms and legs around me in hopes of moving both of us out of the traumatic experience.
At the same time, my training was telling me that Nancy adrenals were faltering, and I needed to signal her to increase the stress hormone her body doesn’t make. I was concerned about how the event had affected her and she was concerned how the event had affected me.
Amidst this recovering moment Nancy laughed and said, “Good thing the weather was cold this morning because my polar fleece jacket prevented him from biting me too deeply.”
As I reflect on this experience, I am reminded on how deep my bond and commitment is to Nancy and how deep and devoted she is to me.
I now suggest you take a moment and ask yourself:
Who stands by you? Who supports you? Finally, who helps you feel safe?
If you have a bit of difficulty coming up with a name or two, I suggest you explore the I Create What I Believe (ICWIB) program where my friend Luke will demonstrate the ICWIB activities and/or attend the FREE Drawing in the Now classes that are taught by Nancy Marie over Zoom the first and third Monday of the month from 4:30 pm-5:00 pm PST.

In a recent interview Dr. Bruce Lipton said, “…Freedom is the ability to create without the limitation of generational programming. The I Create What I Believe! (ICWIB!) Program is a gateway and a pathway into a new and better future because it allows children and (adults) to fully express themselves and to not be limited by the beliefs that have been passed down from generation to generation. This program also frees up children’s and (adults’) minds and allows their creative nature to create a better world for all of us, which is what we need right now!”
