Do you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? If you do, do you know the history behind St. Patrick’s Day?
Here is what I have discovered:
The story of St. Patrick begins when he was captured by Irish raiders at the age of sixteen and brought to Ireland as a slave where he herded and tended sheep for six long years while in captivity. He eventually fled captivity and then after receiving a letter claiming the Irish people wanted him to walk among them once again, Patrick returned to Ireland to spread the word of Christianity or living a compassionate and accountable life.
So, do you have to be Christian to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? NO.
In fact, in my opinion, any excuse or action that you can take to help you step away from the craziness and insanity that is playing out now in many people’s lives is a good reason to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
No, I don’t drink beer-green or any other color beer. Nor do I eat corn beef and cabbage. What I do love is being around people who are finding ways step away from their current captivity and finding renewed hope in their hearts and the joy of being alive.
Feeling your life is falling apart or you have no control of your fate can be devastating and there are plenty of things happening today to bring about that kind of fear and anxiety. Unfortunately, that can put you in a seeming powerless position where you don’t have the capacity to think for yourself or problem solve.
Playing, watching a parade and or just having fun with friends can lift you out of anxiety, depression, and a deep sense of powerlessness. No, I don’t think I will ever do a pub crawl, but I am sure you can find ways to help yourself feel a bit more positive and whole.
Remember we are only in captivity if we willingly participate. So, use the celebration on St. Patrick’s Day to dust off the cobwebs in your mind, and remember the power of a smile, a wagging tail and/or a hug and in the process release yourself from captivity.
Now if you would like some help figuring out some simple things you can do to help yourself and others move out of capacity and bring more cheer into all of your lives, I suggest you explore the I Create What I Believe (ICWIB) program where my friend Luke will demonstrate the ICWIB activities and/or attend the FREE Drawing in the Now classes that are taught by Nancy Marie over Zoom the first and third Monday of the month from 4:30 pm-5:00 pm PST.

In a recent interview Dr. Bruce Lipton said, “…Freedom is the ability to create without the limitation of generational programming. The I Create What I Believe! (ICWIB!) Program is a gateway and a pathway into a new and better future because it allows children and (adults) to fully express themselves and to not be limited by the beliefs that have been passed down from generation to generation. This program also frees up children’s and (adults’) minds and allows their creative nature to create a better world for all of us, which is what we need right now!”
