Today I want to talk about Easter, well more specifically I want to talk about the Easter Bunny.
Historians suggest that the Easter Bunny arrived in America through German immigrants who settled in Pennsylvania. They brought with them the tradition of a rabbit who would go from house to house, leaving eggs and gifts in the baskets that little children set out for them, this tradition brought joy to both the parents and children.
Other sources suggest that the Easter Bunny story comes from the folklore of the Saxon goddess of Spring and has been associated with fertility, new life, and spring since ancient times.
The decorating of Easter eggs in preparation for an Easter egg hunt for a long time has been a way to bring friends, and families getting together to celebrate creativity, love, and joy. Unfortunately, now with the rising cost of eggs, we need to look for a different medium and different ways to bond and connect to keep the tradition alive.
Ingenuity and creative thinking have once again opened the door. Now, instead of decorating eggs we will decorate potatoes this Easter. Will this change impact this Holiday in a negative manner or just make us more creative, stronger, and more determined to generate a new and positive life in the wake of negativity many of us are experiencing?
I like to look at life as a series of opportunities instead of a series of challenges, because this tends to put me in a positive mind set which then enables me to see the good that rests within a challenge.
When I was a pup, my mom used to say, look for the good, but be aware of the bad. Know when it is time to walk away and when to stand strong. Know when it is time for an open heart and compassion and when it is time to say, ‘NO!’
In the scheme of things, painting Easter potatoes verse painting Easter eggs is not a big deal, but if the underlying cause for this need for a change is the result of malice or dishonesty then it does require our attention and clarity. With this in mind, let’s focus on this as an opportunity to get clear on who we are, where we stand, and what kind of change we can help generate.
So how do we know how a situation was created? You can feel it in your body. If you feel positive and relaxed when you think about the change it is probably not the result of malice. If you feel resistant and upset, then the sources or need for this change probably is the result of malice or dishonesty. Accessing this information is one of the reasons dogs sniff each other.
When I was a pup, I used to watch my mom sniff out situations. She knew how to sniff the air. She could also tell when something was off. In these situations, she would gather all of us to safety.
So, in these difficult times, be a dog and learn how to sniff out an individual or situation.
So how can we do that?
Ask yourself, do you feel safe and happy, or do you feel cranky and fearful? We are talking about potatoes and eggs, but in the background, we also have an opportunity to learn how to identify quickly what is the truth behind the change. This perspective can help you build a skill set to maneuver through life in a positive fashion. So, sniff out the truth and from there you will know where you stand, and how to respond.
If you would like some help learning how to sniff out the truth, I suggest you explore the I Create What I Believe (ICWIB) program where my friend Luke will demonstrate the ICWIB activities and/or attend the FREE Drawing in the Now classes that are taught by Nancy Marie over Zoom the first and third Monday of the month from 4:30 pm-5:00 pm PST.

In a recent interview Dr. Bruce Lipton said, “…Freedom is the ability to create without the limitation of generational programming. The I Create What I Believe! (ICWIB!) Program is a gateway and a pathway into a new and better future because it allows children and (adults) to fully express themselves and to not be limited by the beliefs that have been passed down from generation to generation. This program also frees up children’s and (adults’) minds and allows their creative nature to create a better world for all of us, which is what we need right now!”
