Today I would like to talk about Memorial Day.
Memorial Day is about remembering. It is a day when we need to stop, reflect, and give thanks to the people who fought and died for the things and freedoms we have.
Memorial Day started during the Civil War when women began decorating the graves of soldiers who had died in that war. Over time it became a day to remember all of the people who had died in defense of our country. Memorial Day helps us remember that freedom isn’t free. People died so that we could live.
Now it is our turn. Now is the time for us to stand tall and resist the negative encroachment on our life and the lives of others. We must remember, especially now, when the world is in such upheaval and our country is in despair, that we too can make a difference and be part of the solution instead of the problem.
So, what can we do to help bring our country back into alignment with its core and authentic values? How can we stand tall and resist the pull to go along with the negativity and cruelty we see playing out every day? How can we muster up the courage to become the change we want to see?
My mother used to say good behavior begins with love. If you feel loved it is easy to give love, and kindness. If you feel loved, it is easy to have clarity and compassion. At the same time, if you don’t feel loved you can be sucked into a downward spiral of negativity and blame. In these situations, the trick is learning to value and love yourself. In the process you can become part of the solution instead of adding to the problem.
If you would like some help remembering how to love and value yourself and muster up the courage and clarity to approach each day from a positive perspective, I suggest you explore the I Create What I Believe (ICWIB) program where my friend Luke will demonstrate the ICWIB activities and/or attend the FREE Drawing in the Now classes that are taught by Nancy Marie over Zoom the first and third Monday of the month from 4:30 pm-5:00 pm PST.

In a recent interview Dr. Bruce Lipton said, “…Freedom is the ability to create without the limitation of generational programming. The I Create What I Believe! (ICWIB!) Program is a gateway and a pathway into a new and better future because it allows children and (adults) to fully express themselves and to not be limited by the beliefs that have been passed down from generation to generation. This program also frees up children’s and (adults’) minds and allows their creative nature to create a better world for all of us, which is what we need right now!”
