“The important part of conscious parenting is to recognize consciously—first about yourself—that only 5% of our behavior is evident and visible to us. If we start to become aware of that, then we can start to say…when I wasn’t paying attention, my behavior was nothing that I want my kids to emulate either.” Dr. Bruce Lipton
In this short talk, Dr. Bruce Lipton discusses how we’re the living evidence of programs that have been passed down to us from previous generations. Studies show if we’re not mindful, about 95% of our behaviors play out from subconscious programming, which means our lives are essentially a printout of our subconscious!
The subconscious doesn’t evaluate or censor self-limiting beliefs, its job is to create coherence between our conditioned beliefs and real life. It’s only the conscious mind that can operate in a self-reflective mode, bringing awareness to the conditioned programming so we can change it. However, if the conscious mind is preoccupied, automated behaviors and conditioned responses will keep running the show.
As Bruce shares, the relevance of this to conscious parenting is that children are recording the 95% of their parents’ unconscious behaviors. Transmitted beliefs, both spoken and unspoken, are being imprinted in a child’s subconscious and will shape their entire life and perception of themselves; therefore, conscious parenting requires conscious awareness of which perceptions/behaviors one is modeling.
Did you know that the ICWIB! exercises are designed to help you activate your conscious mind and transform self-limiting and negative behaviors? Also, in a recent interview, Dr. Bruce Lipton said, “…Freedom is the ability to create without the limitation of generational programming. The I Create What I Believe! (ICWIB!) Program is a gateway and a pathway into a new and better future because it allows children to fully express themselves and to not be limited by the beliefs that have been passed down from generation to generation. This program also frees up children’s minds and allows their creative nature to create a better world for all of us, which is what we need right now!…”
