This short and very informative video was created to show teachers how trauma affects the brain in a simple and straightforward manner. Now even though this video was explicitly created for teachers, I think it is very useful for all individuals since 70% of the population has experience trauma at least once.
I also think it is important to remember that trauma is defined as a psychological, emotional response to an event or an experience that is deeply distressing or disturbing. This means that what you might experience as a trauma may be different than what I might experience as a trauma. Also, only now are we becoming aware of the long-term affects of trauma and how it can impact all aspects of one’s health and life.
With this in mind, I invite you to explore some of the ICWIB! art activities and videos for FREE because they are a wonderful way to help the body and mind move out of survival and restore balance.
