Sometimes when I draw I use a pencil and sometimes I use an eraser. I find the same is true with life. When I am clear about what I want or what I want to create, then I use a pencil to add in the necessary lines and details to develop the picture. On the other hand, when I am feeling stuck, overwhelmed, depressed, or unsure of what I want or I need to do, I use an eraser to remove the unnecessary lines or clutter. In these moments, the problem usually stems from having too many images floating around in my mind, and I am unclear on which to follow. Using an eraser allows me to slowly extract what isn’t necessary; leaving me with only what I do want, and clarity.
So when your mind wants something and your heart wants something different, what do you do?
I recommend you reach for an eraser! By focusing on details that seem unimportant or don’t support the composition or situation you want to create. Then remove them one by one, because in my experience they can create internal confusion and reduce your clarity.
What will you be left with? Normally you will be left with two things–the core of your conflict and your attraction–the “essence” of the situation or subject you want to create. Once you have this information you can choose which path to follow. You can decide if your composition today is going to be a reflection of purity, truth, and balance, or if you need to create another picture for your “stuck” or “blue” period. There is no right or wrong, there is only choice. So with this in mind, I invite you to use your eraser to get to the bottom of any internal conflict and create a more joyous and harmonious life!
I also invite you to explore some of the ICWIB! art activities and videos for FREE, because they are a wonderful way to help you increase your clarity and create a more joyous life.
Also, in a recent interview, Dr. Bruce Lipton said, “Freedom is the ability to create without the limitation of generational programming. The I Create What I Believe! (ICWIB!) Program is a gateway and a pathway into a new and better future because it allows children to fully express themselves and to not be limited by the beliefs that have been passed down from generation to generation. This program also frees up children’s minds and allows their creative nature to create a better world for all of us, which is what we need right now!”
