Video from KarmaTube
In this short video the filmmaker shares a transformative moment in his life.
He starts out talking about walking down a busy street in Edinburgh and how his eye caught sight of a sign resting at the feet of a man sitting on the pavement outside a posh hotel. It simply read, ‘I am a human being.’
“It stopped me dead in my tracks”, he said. Kneeling down to take a closer look, he struck up a conversation with a gentleman named Sparky. What he thought was going to be a quick chat, turned into a few hours together, where Sparky shared his story and wisdom about life and purpose with him. He said, “ We need to remember that every person, regardless of their situation, is a human being with dignity, with a name, a story, a family and a history. We’re all human.”
So what can we do?
Sparky said, “Just say hello, and buy us a cup of coffee so we don’t feel invisible.
The filmmaker felt this exchange changed his life and created a desire in him to share it with others so Sparky’s story could touch the hearts of others.
