What is more important? –The individual or the whole? How can we create a whole and just society if we don’t encourage development and inclusion of the whole individual?
Our children face a far different world then we faced when we were their age. By the time a child is eighteen years old, he or she will have witnessed on television (with average viewing time) 200,000 acts of violence including 40,000 murders. Also, children, ages 8 to 18, spend more time in front of computer, television, and game screens than any other activity in their lives except sleeping.
With this in mind, how can we bring about more balance in their lives?
It is easy to get caught up in the “more is better” mind set instead of remembering the power of wholeness. It is also easy to forget that when we provide all of the bells and whistles on anything we can discourage active participation, interaction and conscious growth. At the same time, when we create situations that are open, flexible, and encourage creating with no right or wrong we coax the mind to engage, take risks, interact, play, communicate and problem-solve.
With this in mind, I invite you to explore some of the ICWIB art activities and videos for FREE, because they can help you and the children in your life activate your conscious mind and in the process reclaim your wholeness and create a life that is a reflection of your true self.
