When my daughter was about seven months old her father was injured on the job and I had to take on the role of primary breadwinner. This single event changed me, and my whole life. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and forced me to grow and change in ways I hadn’t before. It was difficult but I rose to the occasion. Then about 8 years later their father lost his job and suffered an internal meltdown. Once again I had to jump into the driver seat.
As a result, I got sick—real sick. In response I stopped. The drive to handle everything, and the drive to keep my family afloat crumbled. I had to stop. I had to recalibrate and rediscover myself.
How did I do it?
I turned to my creativity and in the process I was reminded that art is not just about creating beautiful things for other people’s walls, it is about breaking down the walls-both internal and external-that prevent us from being who we really are and creating the life that belong to us.
With this in mind, I invite you to explore some of the ICWIB! art activities and videos for FREE because they are wonderful way to help you remember how to create spontaneously and in the process bring about more healing and joy into your life.
