Do you feel like life is pushing in and compressing or depressing you? Do the events of your day make you want to recoil, retract, and pull away from life? Does the pressure to do things in a certain way or behave in a certain way make it more difficult for you to feel vibrant, expanded, and alive?
Many things can bring on feelings of depression. I know that depression can be the result of a chemical imbalance in the brain. I also think feelings of depression can stem from inaccurate beliefs and perceptions about life and ourselves.
I have come to see that a lot of my past struggles came from me believing I needed to be, behave, or approach life in a certain way. I also have come to realize that these perceptions, which might have been accurate for my parents or siblings, weren’t necessarily true for me. I am a different person, with a very different path. Every time I have changed an inaccurate belief, I have felt more empowered and my life has become more authentic and magical.
So if you are feeling depressed, compressed, or powerless, you might want to look at your beliefs and perceptions about life and yourself. Remember, we acquire our fundamental beliefs about life and our self in the first five years of life merely by observing the behavior and reactions of our parents, siblings, and peers. Once acquired, these beliefs and perceptions control our biology and mold our life.
With this in mind, I invite you to explore some of the ICWIB art activities and videos for FREE, because it is a great way to go inward and discover a new way to approach your life that fills you with vitality and brings you more joy and happiness.
